The Voice 2014 Final

Jermain Jackman

Well we have made it and tonight is the grand final of The Voice. Best of luck to Jamie, Jermain, Sally and Team Midas’ Christina.

Ahead of the show starting, I want to thank all of my Team Midas picks for being so terrific and wish them all, the best of luck for the future. You have helped make my first ever involvement with the show a very enjoyable one.

So whose up first? OK, no pressure it’s Team Midas’ Christina. Seriously, win or lose tonight, what an amazing singer this girl is. A massive star in the making. Her version of ‘Fix You’, got the show off to a tremendous start.

One thing, coaches, can you please remove your shopping off the stage.

The wonderful Sally followed and what can I say, a voice sent from heaven. Beautiful and a lovely humble woman, good luck Sally

Could Team Will’s Jermain be the shock contender who peaks at the right time? Well after his take of ‘Wrecking Ball’ I really think he could. I told a radio station this week, that Jermain has a voice I could listen to all day. After that showing, nothing’s changed.

Jamie finished the first round of songs and although he has a great voice and attitude, I honestly think the other three may have put him in trouble.

After the first round of songs, I think it’s too close to call between Sally, Christina and Jermain.

Now it’s duet time….

Christina joined Ricky and his Kaiser Chiefs and looked so at home on the stage. Get use to it Christina, next stop your own tour.

Sir Tom and Sally went ‘Walking in Memphis’ and if that was released as a single it would get into the charts. Two great voices in lovely harmony.

Will and Jermain worked and sang well together. At the start of tonight, I thought Sally was the major threat. I may need to re-think that.

Kylie and Jamie completed the duets ahead of the first elimination and if Jamie is to go home, what a perfect way to go. Strong vocal and looked like he was really enjoying it.

Before the result, we had a flash back of what has been an amazing series. Aside from Team Midas, one of my main memories will be the brilliant Bob Blakeley. A phenomenal singer and a wonderful, down to earth man. His upcoming May album is a must buy.

The first public vote saw Jamie leave. I wish you all the luck in the world.

Right, back to the Final. The remaining acts choose their favourite song of the series.

Christina Marie’s favourite song of the series was ‘Power of Love’, forget power of love, listen to the power of that voice.

Sally sang ‘Dear Darlin’ a song written by my mate Ed Drewett. I agree with Sir Tom, I’m going to go and look for her albums. I have loved Sally from day one and really hope the work floods in after this.

Jermain has the chance to really put the cat amongst the pigeons with a strong version of ‘And I Am Telling You’. Wow, what an amazing end to the series. Strong, faultless vocal. This has really made things interesting.

So here we go with the result.

The Winner of The Voice 2014 is….Jermain. Well done Jermain, best of luck for 2014 and beyond. I will definitely be buying your debut album.

Before I go, I want to thank Christina Marie for helping give Team Midas our first Voice finalist in our very first year. Good luck, I know this is just the beginning for you.

Right, I’m off to get some sleep, before BGT starts next Saturday…see you next week.
