Pop Rox Muzik is back again with a new package from their latest recruit Juan Cuellar. ‘Amazing Trip’ was added to the label’s ever growing catalogue and roster of up-and-coming talent destined to fight for peak spots in leading electronic music game. Their aim is to provide a launching platform for such gifted artists to gain exposure and fans at an international level. 21 year old Colombian DJ and producer Juan Cuellar, who is now based in London, possesses all of the above qualities and is now part of the diverse and highly-talented Pop Rox Muzik family.
‘Amazing Trip’ is an electro-house effort that’ll be right at home on Pop Rox’s electric discography. From the very start, Juan Cuellar shows he means business in the synth department. The lively and energetic lead melody swerves in and out of the underlying four to the floor kick pattern creating a sense of impending action and setting the scene for the incoming break down. Juan takes it to the next level when he doubles the initial leads with a pumped-up, frenzied synth pattern, generating a distinctive combination. After drawing a muffled, high-pitched synth sound from his arsenal, Juan Cuellar takes us to the peak of his journey before dropping the energy levels allowing for further intricate build-ups. Throughout the whole production Juan Cuellar displays his sense of selection and understanding of momentum. His control on dynamics and layers, refined sound repertoire, melodic tastes and intricate beats make ‘Amazing Trip’ worth listening down to the very last second. The young DJ and producer exhibits the musical maturity of a veteran whilst adding the drive and dynamism of a 21 year old who’s hungry to pave the way for further success. Completing the package is a rework from another Pop Rox favourite Kodiking who gives ‘Amazing Trip’ a classy Progressive rework – reinforcing why he’s a go-to choice for the label.
Juan Cuellar has collaborated with numerous labels, including: Impressed Music, DeMars Records, and Brisk Records. He is now releasing ‘Amazing Trip’ through Pop Rox Muzik in an effort to maintain their successful legacy and establish himself as yet another brilliant young DJ and producer whose reached the top through his capabilities, hard work and Pop Rox’s vision and ability to identify future stars at such a youthful age. Juan Cuellar is truly proving to have what’s necessary to become a notorious name in the electronic music scene.
