MoBlack – African Kung-Fu

Italian-Ghanaian project MoBlack this month announced his ‘African Kung-Fu’ release – which is now available via his own MoBlack Records. The percussion specialist has been popping up in DJ charts, features and sales rankings on Beatport for a while now and we’re not surprised after checking out his high level House outputs. Rhythmic in ways that few can get close to – the percussion maestro has been putting out a seriously high quality batch of organic and highly original sounding productions that are earning him a fan base on an international scale. As a lover of the universal language of music – MoBlack has made it his mission to bring together the spirit of House with the cultural characteristics of the countries he represents.

The soundscapes he produces are clearly the work of a well-travelled and artistically inspired artist. The aural colours and tones he pulls from his artillery are varied, original, organic, highly-creative and completely representative of his journey in life geographically – as well as musically.

As MoBlack keeps building his discography and adding influences from his travels around the world – we’ll continue to be treated to new sounds that merge together global influences from all forms of world music with a high level House sound that stays constant in his productions. Afro-inspired electronic dance music is nothing new, but it’s rare to find House that’s instilled with such organic and natural sounding percussion. This is not the work of a producer using random loops and samples – MoBlack is the real deal – a serious percussion expert with a fine taste in House music.
