If the name Von Konow is to alien to you, well he’s just as dramatic as David Bowie, inherits the raw smoothness of Nick Cave and the sweetness from Depeche Mode. Unsurprisingly, his latest single, “Cosmic” encompasses the influences of these three rock legends.
Accompanied by a compelling black and white visual, the three-and-a-half-minute effort embodies the sinisterness of Bowie which runs concurrently with the contrasting Depeche Mode-esque sweet synthpop overtones. Von Konow’s baritone vocals take the spirit of Nick Cave and reverberate throughout the attention-grabbing production.
“Cosmic” is the first release from the forthcoming album entitled “Leider”, where the Finnish classically-trained musician- whose full name is Marko Von Konow- offers a bolder continuation of the single: collisions of abrasive orchestral arrangements and glam rock and with a sprinkle of sugary overtones which irons out the boldness of the two genres.
