Roclie Nell paints an inspiring picture of triumph and accomplishment

Venel Simon, better known by his stage name Roclie Nell, is a Haitian-American singer-songwriter and rapper who has been compared to the likes of T-Pain, Sean Kingston, Chris Brown and Jason Derulo. The 22-year-old musician, unfortunately, didn’t have the easiest of upbringings  – but it’s only made him stronger. Venel has always loved helping others, and having worked hard at school, his job and saving up money, he trained to be a nurse. He was accepted to the McFatter Technical College as a Patient Care Technician and following his graduation from there he went on to pass his Certified Nursing Assistant qualification awarded by the Florida Board of Nursing – “I always wanted to be a part of the healthcare field, and help people.”

The Florida-based singer began pursuing a career in music in 2015, and having always loved r&b and gospel music, these influences resonate in his sound. Although his influences are prominent, Roclie Nell paints an inspiring picture of triumph and accomplishment – overcoming pain and fear. His positive ethos streams from his voice and it’s clear he’s on the up.

Roclie Nell’s latest track, ‘They Ain’t Fine Like You (Loui Loui) featuring Stuey Rock, is the perfect example of his music. Finely auto-tuned vocals and an uplifting beat, not to mention the lyrics and choreography, show this guy has what it takes to make a hit record. Venel’s journey is far from over as he aspires to be the voice of a young generation of passionate talented rappers and musicians. Expect to see more from Roclie Nell in the coming months.
