Music Crowns celebrates all artist and music genre’s especially those with a great set of pipes and vocal skill. ShawnJermaine is one of those artist. Residing in Los, Angeles, CA Shawn is somewhat of a socialite and social media star but his most fabulous attribute is his voice and unique style
Music crown’s caught up with ShawnJermaine after finding his Music video and asked him about what inspired him to be an artist as he is an inspiration to many.
1. What inspired you to be an artist?
Being an artist is something that was totally organic to me since I was able to walk and talk. The moment I performed on the stage for the first time, was the moment I realized I’m making a difference in other people’s lives. The more I performed for people, I noticed their reactions and things they would say about how I made their days and many more great comments! I started getting inspiration from traveling to different walks of life and experiencing different reactions from crowds, taking a piece of everything I’ve witnessed and exuding it in my art to make a difference .
2. What sets you apart from other artist out today /right now?
The main thing that I feel sets me apart from other artist out today is my individuality . You don’t see many artist standing for a specific message . Another thing that sets me apart from other artist out today is my androgynous style. Most artist go for the “commercial” look to fit in, Life chose the total opposite for me, to stand out.
3. Who did you look up to growing up for inspiration ? Your voice is very unique!
My biggest inspirations were from some of the greats. Michael, Whitney, Beyonce; the list goes on. As I grew older I fell in love with modern day artist such as Lana Del Ray and Tori Kelly as well; just to name a couple. I’ve taken inspiration from all of those great artist and applied it to my craft, they all have unique voices.
4. What are your views on the Marrige equality and equality in general?
I think the Marraige equality situation is long over due, and is an awesome thing to celebrate! I believe in ALL equality no matter what . Whether it’s gay marraige, skin color, gender, or whatever the case may be, I believe it’s very important to push equality! People should be able to be whatever , be whoever , and love however they’d please. And now they can!
