Sinderins is a five-road junction in Dundee, Scotland. Not what you’d expect a band to be named after, yet crazier things have happened.

Initially known as Anderson, McGinty, Webster, Ward & Fisher the band have reformed under this new name but keeping the core of Anderson, McGinty and Webster on vocals, they have retained a trademark feel of folk, roots and country with amazing harmonies to support.

The lead single from the self-titled album, Fayre, shows of an incredible vocal performance from Webster as he sustains a high note for a whole four bars. To make this to be possible, he took note of the great Thom Yorke’s technique of dousing himself in cold water before taking to the microphone. Not quite in the same way, but the result is outstanding.

Another standout track includes Absolutely Nothing, whilst For Every Road A Traveller demonstrates the bands vocal capabilities with harmonies reminiscent of a certain Fleet Foxes. All Join Hands has hints of a Gregorian chant in the chorus and is a little hidden gem – don’t let this one pass you by.

The new album is out today on West Wynd Records, you can stream it exclusively below. Checkout more from Sinderins on the links below and if you’re in Glasgow this Saturday get over to King Tuts and throw some ice-cold water at this great Scottish folk act.
