Medical fund launched for Delays singer following cancer diagnosis

A medical fund has been launched for Delays singer, Greg Gilbert, who has been diagnosed with cancer.

The father-of-two has been diagnosed with inoperable stage four bowel cancer, which has spread to his lungs. He started chemotherapy last Wednesday and is now trying to raise £100,000 for treatment with the drug Avastin, which is not available on the NHS, and due to genetic compatibility complications may be the vocalist-guitarist’s only chance in being able to see his children grow up.

The fund has already hit £80,000, with those donating including singer Ellie Goulding, who has contributed £1,000 to the fund.

Gilbert’s fiancée Stacey writes: “We were told this heartbreaking news on our daughter Bay’ 1st birthday… To hear Greg ask the consultant how long he had left to live is the darkest moment of my life.”

Donations to Greg’s treatment fund can be made here.
