Going on previous experience, a new release from acoustic artist Jess Thristan is always something to look forward to. There’s something magnetic about her lilting vocal, an ability to draw the listener in that is clearly not only being noticed by fans, but by the music industry too.
With new EP ‘Live on Love‘, Thristan has excelled herself once more. Not only with the title track above, but all three tracks showing different sides to her songwriting prism.
‘Live on Love’ is a pure country-pop crowd pleaser, while the slower, heartrending ‘Winter in Manhattan’ shows a different end to the spectrum. Somewhere in between, the catchy, rhythmic ‘Colours’ is arguably one of her strongest songs yet.
‘Live on Love’ is an EP that does everything a good EP should. It’s a really strong showcase for an artist’s sound, whetting the appetite for more, perhaps in the form of an album. With any luck, that’s what’s coming next.
