ACM Alumus Richard Shaw (Cradle Of Filth) Visits ACM

ACM welcomed alumnus Richard Shaw (guitarist for Cradle Of Filth) back through its doors for a masterclass in the Blackstar PRS room.

Performing a selection of songs live and talking about all things theory, songwriting and technique, it was a full on masterclass in which students learnt a lot about many aspects of the music business. Richard then provided one to one tutorials with the students.

After a Q&A with the students, Richard donated a large signed canvas to the Academy’s Blackstar PRS room as he was the first Blackstar/PRS artist to deliver a masterclass in the there.

“It was a pleasure to welcome Richard Shaw from Cradle of Filth to ACM for a masterclass. His incredibly precise playing and attention to detail was incredibly inspirational, as well his musical knowledge and professional achievements to date. As an ACM graduate, we are incredibly proud of him and look forward to his return for another masterclass in the future!”

“I came to ACM in 2003 and left in 2006, I studied on the higher diploma and the degree programmes in performance for guitar. I loved every second of it. There were lots of sleepless nights going over scores and practicing, but there were a lot of masterclass and great tutors to help me. I made friends for life here. I loved every second of it.”
