New single ‘Chameleon’ out today from The Who’s Pete Townshend and Des Horsfall

Many music fans will already be aware of the work and the name of Pete Townshend. As lead guitarist and songwriter for The Who, he has made a place for himself in music history. So when he releases a track which is dedicated to the life of another artist who inspired him, then that artist is probably worthy of the attention.

Written for the late Ronnie Lane, ‘Chameleon’ is a single released today by cult folk artist Des Horsfall and his Kuschty Rye project. It’s taken from ‘The Bastard’s Tin’, a new album due in the new year, and when Pete Townshend heard of the project and its tribute to Ronnie Lane, he approached Horsfall to be involved.

‘Chameleon’ is the result of that collaboration. Pulling together some of the great aspects that make folk an enduring genre, the track is a meaningful love letter to a man who inspired many musicians who followed.
