Following its successful debut in 2015 where Rufus Wainwright, Damien Rice and Alison Moyet all performed at the inaugural Live At Chelsea concert series, Kilimanjaro in partnership with The Royal Hospital Chelsea, are delighted to announce that the three day concert series will be returning for a second year.

Kicking things off for 2016 on the Friday night of the event will be the inaugural Chelsea Firework Prom, soundtracked by the magnificent Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra. Multi-million selling Wet Wet Wet will entertain crowds on the Saturday evening of the event, with seminal British RnB group Simply Red closing the series on the Sunday night.

Cementing itself as a must see event in the summer calendar for 20,000 music goers, Live At Chelsea is the only concert series staged at this beautiful venue. The shows themselves are hosted in a fully seated auditorium in the Royal Hospital Chelsea’s central courtyard – the Hospital itself was founded by King Charles II in 1682 and is home to the Chelsea Pensioners, 300 retired soldiers (many of whom attended the shows last year, with the London Evening Standard noting how Alison Moyet “charmed” the Pensioners in Chelsea).

Andy Hickling, MBE – MBIFM, Director of Estates, Facilities, Commercial & Quartermaster at The Royal Chelsea Hospital said: “After a fantastic line up in 2015, we are delighted that we will be welcoming music fans to the Royal Hospital Chelsea again next summer.  The historic home is one of London’s architectural gems and offers a stunning backdrop to the world-class artists who will be performing.

A portion of the ticket sale proceeds will also go towards funding care for the Chelsea Pensioners (retired soldiers) who live at The Royal Hospital, as well as helping to fund the ongoing maintenance of the Grade I listed site.
