PAPER-TIGERS

Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, Paper Tigers are here to breathe new life back into Rock ‘n’ Roll. The band is comprised of Linus Valdemar on guitar and vocals and his brother Andreas on bass, keyboardist Sebastian Martin and drummer Niklas Løvén complete the line-up.

From their very first jamming session as a band, it became clear that their sound has harmonic and spellbinding qualities, and the quartet have been moving forwards ever since.

Thanks to the driving sound, simple melodies and brisk live performances, the band were awarded “Best Rock Band” at the Danish Underground Music Awards in 2011. The following year they released their first EP “If We May?”, which received excellent reviews across the country. In May 2015, Paper Tigers appeared on the international scene and performed their enthusiastically received concert at Hamburg’s Reeperbahn and Berlin’s “Comet-Club“.

Their debut album “Head over Heels” will be released on 4th March 2016 and was produced by Danish guitar legend Soren Andersen, who gave a characteristic and energetic sound to all eleven songs on the album and is available to pre-order now.

The band have chosen to exclusively premiere their music video for “Head Over Heels” with us here at Music Crowns, and what a treat it is. The track radiates with a vital maturity and infectiousness that leaves you wanting more. The production and artistic quality of the video stands out too, shot entirely in black and white it features the band playing the song in an almost live environment and providing a glimpse into what it must be like to see the band live. It becomes clear why they have started to become one of the most sought-after bands for festival bookings in mainland Europe.

Their sound has been heavily influenced by the Valdemar brothers’ father, who was a successful regional folk singer, and they also cite several British bands as their inspiration including The Beatles, The Turtles and several Britpop bands; combine all of that with 4 contemporary musicians and you get Paper Tigers.

Keep up with the band through their official Facebook page and get ready to fall “Head Over Heels” with them.
