He might have the moniker you might expect of an urban artist, but nothing could be further from the truth for Spirals. A songwriting project aimed at bringing back the sound of Kraftwerk, Pink Floyd and their ilk of psychadelic rock, Spirals is the alter ego of songwriter and multi-instrumentalist John Aziz.
Having suffered from illness lately which has prevented him from creating music, he is making up for lost time now – his new self-titled mixtape (read mini-album) will so be available via BitTorrent bundles and will be quickly followed by an acoustic folk collection. It just goes to show he is a versatile performer, well worth keeping an eye on in a pigeonholed world.
