The Nights Aren’t so Lonely Thanks to Ian Lee’s Debut Album

Ian Lee lonely Nights

Ian Lee is a musician based in Leicester who, over the past 18-months, has been taking songwriting competitions by storm both in the UK and the US.

In one such contest, the Song Door International Songwriting Competition, Lee finished in 6th place out of more than 19,000 entries from 27 countries. In fact, 7 songs from what would make up his ‘Lonely Nights’ album received honourable mentions in Song Door competition results. He followed this up with a 4th place finish in the category of best lyrics in the UK Songwriting Competition.

Lee’s debut album consists of 11 touching acoustic, piano and soft rock ballads that are sure to move you. The album’s title track is upbeat and perfect to listen to as you unwind at the end of the day, the music video also offers a specific insight into his experiences during the recording process.

‘Love Song’ is the lead single which, as its title suggests, tells a story of meeting and spending time with someone special. ‘Missi’ is a similarly poignant song about unrequited love, while the sublime piano melodies of ‘Rainbows Without Rain’ is an example of another gentler tune with deep and heartfelt lyrics.

Even after an initial listen, it is easy to see why his music has drawn comparisons to Bruce Hornsby, The Script and James Taylor.

Lonely Nights will be released on 2nd October 2015, and is available to pre-order now.
