I AM worship band launch album ‘Fight The Good Fight’

Bethany, Joseph, Lauren & Marie-Therese are a Derry-born vocal harmony group who have set for themselves an unstoppable mission: to plant the seed of faith in the hearts of people and to teach the world to dance and sing for Jesus.

In under three years, I AM have taken worship to our streets, their sound then echoing to international audiences. From serving at the altar-side, artworks, singing at Masses, youth groups, retreats, pilgrimages, their path has always been in the relentless pursuit to know God more. It’s been through the realisation of I AM that God’s favour and abundance has truly shown up. 2015 was a pivotal point in their faith journey. On a visit to the Hillsong Church in Sydney Australia by Marie-Therese, she asked God to “Burn in me a desire, a passion worthy of your name”. This led to a phone call home to Joseph. “We need to make this happen in Ireland!” Six months later, Marie returned home at Christmas. And through their own initiative, by Easter, I AM had sold out their first concert, ‘I AM Alive’.

In Summer 2017, whilst recuperating after surgery, Marie wrote the first song, ‘Greatness Galore‘. It was in this time of peace and reflection that creativity continued to flow. Prayer, words, harmonies with tea and biscuits became the daily language for the band as they began to write their first album. With overwhelming support from the community around them, they found themselves in the recording studio.

By Summer 2018, I AM had performed their first album track ‘Butterfly‘ at the launch of ‘Box of Butterflies,’ The New York Times bestselling book by Roma Downey. They then debuted their entire album, Fight The Good Fight in East Germany as part of a European Tour with the message that Good shall overcome evil. On returning home to Ireland, they were invited to perform at Phoenix Park in Dublin for the Papal celebration closing the World Meeting of Families 2018.
