5 Fresh Tracks for New Music Friday

Happy Friday! We’ve not stopped thinking about David Hasselhoff’s upcoming heavy metal endeavour. When is it dropping? Why is it dropping? Our heads are haunted by the Hoff, and we need something good to take our minds off it. Luckily, with Guava Island and Wiz Khalifa’s docuseries dropping this weekend, we’ve got a choice selection of TV to take our mind off it… but that just ain’t soon enough.

We’ve rounded up five of the freshest tracks to drop this release day, featuring MAGUIRE, Archie Faulks, WILDES, Isaac Waddington, and Bloom.

WILDES‘Circles’

Singer-songwriter WILDES, real name Ella Walker, today releases ‘Circles’.

The latest single has been described by Walker as a “song written about getting lost in the familiarity of a failing relationship”.

WILDES plans to release her debut record this fall, focusing on the imperfect “warts-and-all” beauty in the world around us.

You can catch WILDES headline show on in London on 3rd June at Servant Jazz Quarter – tickets for that go on sale 22nd April, so keep your eyes peeled.

Bloom‘Ground’

Brighton-based synth-pop outfit Bloom have released ‘Ground’, which comes as the first part of a double-A single.

The forthcoming second track, ‘Escape’, debuts on streaming services 26th April.

‘Ground’ describes being in the depths of depression, while it’s predecessor ‘Escape’ will deliver a lighter, upbeat side of self-care and recovery; the yin and yang of mental health recovery and relapse. Listen to it above.

MAGUIRE‘Behind The Screen’

London-based artist MAGUIRE has released her debut solo single, ‘Behind The Screen’.

It’s the first offering from MAGUIRE‘s forthcoming debut EP, and she is currently in the studio working on future material with producer Liam Howe.

In the meantime, check out MAGUIRE’s recent performance for M.C Sessions.

Archie Faulks‘Wonderful’

Ahead of his UK headline tour, Archie Faulks has shared his brand new single ‘Wonderful’.

A beautifully bitter-sweet love song, it frames Archie’s addictive vocals with the catharsis of a string section: listen to it above.

Speaking of his most recent offering, Archie says, “‘Wonderful’ is a song inspired by the melancholy associated with the inevitable passing of time and the effect of it on the relationship of two people. A once glorious thing that, due to different paths chosen in life, could never come to fruition but is maintained through the thought of what could have been.”

Faulks’ debut UK tour kicks off tomorrow (13th April) at The Jacaranda in Liverpool, followed by a further six dates across the country that crescendos with a headline show at London’s Camden Assembly on April 23rd. Tickets are available via Music Glue.

Isaac Waddington –  ‘Let Me Into Your Heart’

Release day is looking a little more soulful, with Isaac Waddington preparing to release five singles across the next five weeks this Spring.

Last Friday, he dropped the beautiful ’Make It Better’, and this week he drops the equally stunning ‘Let Me Into Your Heart’ – check it out above, and keep your eyes peeled for the rest of the season.

Waddington is also a stellar live presence: check out his performance for M.C Sessions here.
