“As if we didn’t tour Europe before the fucking EU”: The Who’s Roger Daltrey says Brexit isn’t a problem for UK musicians

The Who frontman Roger Daltrey has once again defended his pro-Brexit stance, claiming that the referendum won’t affect British musicians.

The comments came as the singer lost his temper with a Sky News journalist who asked whether the UK’s departure from the EU would be “bad for British rock music”.

“No. What’s it got to do with the rock business?” he responded.

Daltrey was then asked how musicians would tour in Europe, to which he responded:  “Oh dear as if we didn’t tour Europe before the fucking EU – oh, give it up!”

Daltrey went on to liken the EU to the mafia, saying: “If you want to be signed up to be ruled by a fucking mafia, you do it. Like being governed by FIFA.”

It’s certainly not the first time the Brit-rock frontman has been vocal about his pro-Brexit views.

Speaking to The Telegraph last year, Daltrey said: “I’m not anti-Europe, I’m anti-Brussels … I want someone at least answerable to me that I can say: “Fuck off, you’re useless!”

The Who will be heading out on an American tour later this year.

Earlier this year,  the band confirmed that work is underway on their first studio album in 13 years.

They are also set to embark on an orchestral accompanied tour of America – “possibly” their last tour.
