Happy New Music Friday! After a busy week of filling our ears with some new Noel Gallagher, literal bird song, and the news of Pete Doherty being stabbed by a hedgehog, we’re just about ready for some new tunes. LEECHES‘Flowers in the Garden’

Dorset three-piece LEECHES champion boredom with the release of their first single of 2019, ‘Flowers in the Garden’.

Bassist and co-vocalist Jack Pearce said of the playful psych track: “‘Flowers in the Garden’ was written while we were feeling pretty aware of how little there is to do in this part of the world. You make your own entertainment here as its not exactly a cultural mecca, but it has its perks. It sort of walks the line between the agitation of limited options and the comfort in the freedom of being disconnected from the bigger things.”

Pongo ‘Chora’

Angolan-Portuguese electronic artist, Pongo shares her brand new track
It features brand new track, ‘Chora’.

It comes from the expanded release of her buzzy debut EP, Baia, which was shared today.

You can catch Pongo at this year’s Great Escape – her set is 8.30pm at The Arch on 9th May.

‘Woke As Me’Open Mike Eagle

Ahead of his forthcoming UK tour, rapper and comedian Open Mike Eagle has shared his new single, with accompanying visuals.

Woke As Me is a collaborative endeavour between Open Mike Eagle and Grammy-nominated rapper Phonte, which sees the pair face off in a “woke off”. Check it out below.

The visuals are the third instalment in a series of original music collaborations for Eagle’s current TV show for Comedy Central, The New Negroes.

Brian Nasty‘Cereal Killer’

Brian Nasty has shared his latest single from upcoming mixtape, Pyjama Party.

The 20-year-old London based DIY rapper and producer has shared ‘Cereal Killer’, a track that laments “when a relationship goes horribly wrong and it’s either you’re gonna kill yourself or kill the other person.”

Pyjama Party drops 8th May via [PIAS] Recordings.

The Head And The Heart ‘People Need a Melody’

The Head And The Heart have shared the new visuals for their latest single, ‘People Need a Melody’. Check it out above.

It’s the third track to be lifted from their upcoming album Living Mirage, set to drop 17th May via Parlophone Records / Reprise Records.
