Ones to watch: Bushstock Festival 2018

With Bushstock fast approaching, we have put together a list of the hottest acts to watch at this year’s festival. From bruising guitar music to ultra-silky R&B, the Shepherd’s Bush-based festival will play host to an astounding blend of established and newly-discovered talent.

PEACE

Birmingham-born four-piece, PEACE, are billed as one of 2018’s Bushstock main attractions. Following their stunning visuals for ‘From Under Liquid Glass‘, their third album Kindness is the New Rock and Roll was released in May to widespread acclaim. PEACE are set to deliver an energetic live show, full of upbeat summer bangers and flamboyancy.

Mary Miller

Mary Miller is a talented singer, songwriter and producer who blends retro samples and guitar tones from the ’50’s with elements of modern electronica and hip-hop. She will be opening one of the event’s stages after being crowned the winner of an Apply To Play competition which is run by the festival every year.

FEET

Formed at Coventry University, FEET was borne out of a group of mutual friends George, Oli, Harry and Joe who all shared the same love for music, pasta and scotch eggs. The four-piece group fuse noisy guitar riffs with fibrous chants to soft-centred choruses. They released their debut 7″, ‘Pretty Thieving/Macho Macho’, on Yala Records last October and are undoubtedly ones to check out at this year’s festival.

Grace Carter

Brighton-native Grace Carter draws inspiration from the greats, such as Lauryn Hill and Nina Simone. Her striking tones are silky and powerful and it’s clear she is not only one to watch for Bushstock Festival but for 2018 overall. Her highly-anticipated debut EP will arrive next spring and we can wait to give it a spin.

Stereo Honey

We were first introduced to Stereo Honey last year when we came across their excellent track, ‘The Bay‘. The London band have since played a number of shows including a BBC Introducing night at the Lexington, Dot to Dot, Community Festival & Festival No.6. Head over to see Stereo Honey at Bushstock if, like us, you’re up for some soulful indie-pop.

The festival is set to take place on 23rd June –  tickets available here.
