Pretend Collective unveil first single ‘Hello, Lonely Road’

The Pretend Collective are a group quite unlike any other. From playing on Broadway to touring and collaborating with some of the world’s biggest names in music, the collective CV for the members of the Pretend Collective is pretty damn impressive.

Now, after more than two years spent searching for musicians who would accurately represent the ethos of the collective, and trial and error spent perfecting their sound, Pretend Collective’s debut single ‘Hello, Lonely Road’ is finally here.

The track, which features lead guitar work by Tom Dais (Uni Ika Ai, Via Audio), takes you on a psychedelic and harmonic journey – in parts capturing a sound that wouldn’t feel completely out of place on a Beatles record.

Listen below.

On the track, vocalist and songwriter Mike Reilly said: “ [‘Hello, Lonely Road’] is a sort of love letter to the cyclical process of romantic entanglement and estrangement, which becomes a stand-in for the peaks and valleys that comprise life.”

‘Hello, Lonely Road’ is the first single taken from the group’s forthcoming debut album (title: TBA), which is slated for release on 13th September via The Giving Groove.
