Watch the Soundwalk Collective with Patti Smith’s new video for ‘Ivry’

Ahead of the release of their latest album The Peyote Dance on 31st May via Bella Union, Soundwalk Collective with Patti Smith have dropped the visuals for ‘Ivry’.

Directed by Stephan Crasneanscki and with editing and visual collage by Jenn Ruff, the visuals use footage derived from Antonin Artaud’s most legendary performance in ‘The Passion of Joan of Arc’. Check it out below.

The lyrics have been penned by Patti Smith as a farewell to Antonin Artaud, and play part of a Rarámuri funeral march and celebration performed on Tarahumara guitars from the valley where Artaud wrote ‘The Peyote Dance’.
