ELLiS·D’s newest release ‘Puppeteering’ is a stunning alt-rock offering reminiscent of the likes of Radiohead, Mystery Jets and MGMT’s Congratulations album. With stripped back verses and triumphant choruses that provide the perfect juxtaposition, the visual is a subdued spectacle in itself.
Discussing the release ELLiS·D explains:
“I wanted to set aside my preconceived ideas of what it means to dissociate from yourself and explore why we feel the need to escape from our identity. In trying to figure out who we really are, we often look to those closest to us for answers – and find solace in the reflection of ourselves we see in them.”
Edgy, daring and diverse, ‘Puppeteering’ is a brave construction that defys the typical rock constructs. Not one to be penned in by convention, ELLiS·D is a brooding talent without the bravado, and we cannot wait to hear more.
