Eugenia Post Meridiem are back with a stunning new album “Like I Need A Tension”

After three month travelling around Lisbon, the members of Eugenia Post Meridiem met by chance, when Eugenia (voice, guitar) met Matteo (bass), Giovanni (guitar, keys) and Matteo (drums, percussion) all bumped into each other. Their unique sound is a melting pot of influences put forward by each of the members of the band. A colourful musical melting pot is forged out of Matteo’s bass and electronic music skills, Giovannis, psychedelic oriented guitar and Matteo’s deeply rooted percussive Jazz origins.

Highly anticipated, track “Crucial Spring” built the hype up massively. An atmospheric but infectious offering, the track fully showcases their signature sound. Speaking about this they say:

This song is clearly divided into two parts: the tension and the tendency towards fragmentation is evident here as well. These two parts are however internally highly compact and coherent. The whole song is built on the contrast of atmospheres and meanings they create, opposing and complementing each other.

The first half is night, that rest and shelter, that sickness, that concealment, that closure, that great winter someone has longed for, like a great need and secret, a great promise made in her/his childhood. This darkness rests in a cocoon, but soon blows up right in the middle of the song, when a wide open door turns everything upside down.

Clear, airy sounds can now take you on a liberating sprint into an unprecedented warmth, into a return of sight. This crucial sight brings into view only what makes us necessary to the world. Then we see the world that is necessary to us.”

Listeners are now being treated to five unheard gems on the album, and it’s not one to miss for sure. Throughout the tracks, their mixture of shoegaze, atmospheric elements, rock and everything in between is showcased. The album showcases vulnerability in amongst hard-hitting tracks, taking the listener on a well-flowing journey.
