Junior Francisco Carty Tavares known by his stage name FENIX signed to a record label based in Los Angeles in 2019 after his Worldwide hit ‘Cero Sentimientos’ which he released in 2018 and went viral on TikTok with over 1M videos created with his song.
Originally from Cuesta Arriba, Dominican Republic the Latin star FENIX moved to New York in 2009 when he was 14 years old. He always loved music since he was a kid but didn’t start writing and singing until 2016 when he was 20 years old that’s when he discovered he had the talent and the passion for it after playing around and recording his first song at one of his boys’ home studio.
After living in New York for 10 years he finally decided to move to Los Angeles to work with his former record label in 2019. After a couple of months of working with his old record label, there were many disagreements and FENIX decided to ask for his release and went back to New York for 5 Months.
While in the process of trying to get out of the contract he started recording new songs and the songs that would become his comeback album SFTW which is short for ‘SORRY FOR THE WAIT‘.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic the process for FENIX to get his release took even longer extending it to over a year. But he didn’t waste anytime. During the process he prepared himself to learn more about the music industry, he started to record way more than what he used to started working on new styles and genres like reggaeton and dancehall.
He would also go on to start his own record label in the process – FENIX CARTY LLC and all his music is now controlled by his own record label.
FENIX finally got his release from his former record label in March 2021 making him an independent artist once again. A little over a month later on April 23rd he released his comeback album ‘SFTW’ and his new music video 3AM to finally give his fans the long awaited sound of his voice, showing the world that the FENIX has returned from the ashes and is now here to stay.
