GISS releases thrashing new album ‘II’

GISS are an alternative quintet who hail from Poland. Their unique sound is quickly turning them rising stars in the rock genre – creating rock music that is as eclectic as it is captivating. Their music takes influence from a whole host of genres and musical inspirations giving their signature sound another different dimension, and their new album ‘II’ is a perfect representation of this.

Tracks such as “Morning Battle” are hard-hitting. Drums smash through the mix, guitars come soaked in overdrive and vocals are infectious – these tracks certainly need to be turned up 11. Whereas songs such as “Better Call Paul” feature a more pop-infused sound. Playful drums, chorus tinged guitars and understated but infectious vocals all merge together within the track. It’s clear that GISS succeed on taking the audience on a journey.

Discussing the records formation, GISS explain:  We aimed to create an album of songs about relationships in modern society. We wanted the music to be both as pleasant as pop rock songs and at the same time put in some quirks and twists to make it musically vivid and immersive. We’ve been writing and producing the material mostly on summer excursions to a mountain house over the span of the last few years.”

With something on the album for everyone, it’s one to check out for sure.
