Julie Elody drops music video for infectious recent release ‘All Or Nothing’

Getting the start to her career as the vocalist and songwriter of funk-rock band The Fake Carls, 25-year old talent Julie Elody decided to go solo a couple of years ago, and quickly started to craft one bright pop gem after another. High-profile collaborations with the likes of MKJ on ‘Mountain Lion’ and Jako Diaz on ‘Gonna Dance With Your Girl’ followed her departure from her previous band, and with 2020 came one of her most exciting releases to date, 80s-inspired ‘All Or Nothing’.

The single, which was released back in May this year, has since amassed almost 30k streams on Spotify and will keep on rising now that Julie Elody decided to visualize it in a quirky music video. Dominated by purple and pink tones, the visual companion to “All Or Nothing” couldn’t be more fitting, starring Julie Elody herself surrounded by colorful cupcakes, sweets and tea.

“All or nothing is a song about keeping yourself busy to distract from your own uncomfortable feelings,” explained Julie Elody. “Being busy and productive can look like you have it all together, when in reality it’s a coping mechanism for feeling overwhelmed/anxious. But sometimes this anxiety can make even one action near impossible. Indecisiveness about the “right” decision is so paralyzing that you end up doing nothing.”
