Karen O has shared a new single, ‘Anti-Lullaby’, as the theme song for the forthcoming Amazon series Hanna.
With a tenderly plucked acoustic guitar and soft-spoken vocals, ‘Anti-Lullaby’ goes against its name with a melody that could lull anyone to sleep – listen to it below.
But the Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman asks the listener to do anything but: “Do not sleep, my starling / Sleep, my doe / She is wrapped in curtains laid in snow / She will bury you inside her fur”.
The 80-second track is the latest work from Karen O outwith the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
In November 2018, the singer collaborative with Danger Mouse to release ‘Lux Prima’, the first track from a planned collaborative album between the pair.
Hanna is an Amazon Prime adaption of Joe Wright’s 2011 film of the same name.
It follows the story of Hanna, an extraordinary young girl, who “she evades the relentless pursuit of an off-book CIA agent and tries to unearth the truth behind who she is.”
‘Hanna’ is set to premiere on Amazon Prime in March 2019.
