Marking their first offering of the year, Silk Cinema have released their sleek new single ‘How To Find Perfection’, weaving jazzy undertones into their alternative R&B sound. Whilst Kristy X’s mellifluous vocals deliver reflective, empowering lyrics which explore the theme of self-love, Raph A creates a dreamy soundscape through his nuanced production. Listeners won’t be able to resist this magnetic track.
Revealing the meaning behind the song, Silk Cinema says: “I think I had to write this song to be okay with never being able to find perfection. As humans we learn a lot as we go on our journey of life. ‘How To Find Perfection’ is really about the stage I am at in my life now. I’ve learned to care less. I’m not perfect nor will I ever be, and it feels so good to be okay with it!”
This independent duo arrived onto the scene in 2017, releasing a string of singles as well as their debut album ‘Spells’ in 2019, which have been well received by the blog community. ‘How To Find Perfection’ joins their stellar discography which combines influences from indie-R&B, electro-pop, jazz and neo-soul. Inspired by the likes of Sade, Steely Dan and Jessie Ware, this duo are creating a contemporary sound that is up there with some of R&B’s most promising acts.
