NEVE releases emotionally-penned single “Should’ve Been Us”

It’s been quite the journey for singer-songwriter NEVE. Moving from a small town in Northern Ireland to Reading for university, she quickly found her way into the pop music scene at Ealing Studios, after years of studying musical theatre in Ireland. Her songwriting ability is incredible, and has seen her work with the likes of Anne Marie, Nicole Scherzinger and Little Mix to name a few.

Her latest single “Should’ve Been Us” is an emotionally-penned offering. The track manages to blend heartfelt music with pop sensibilities, a song that listeners should take into their heart as well as sing at the top of their lungs. Neve’s vocals are silky smooth and work well with her heart-warming lyricism. Instrumentally, the track features a melting pot of heartwarming pianos, divine-sounding synths and understated percussion.

Speaking about the single, NEVE says: “I co-wrote this song with 2 incredible musicians that I am so blessed to have worked with, Mr Hudson and Maestro the Baker, both of them have Grammy’s first of all which at this stage of my career is wild that I get to make music with them. We wrote this song about that one person who even though they may not physically appear in your life anymore they never truly leave your mind. I made it very awkward by crying in the booth multiple times while recording the chorus haha but this one feels really special.”

NEVE has been able to grow her Tiktok platform to half a million followers, and in the last few weeks alone has accumulated over 60 million views on singing videos of her own and other artists’ songs. She’s currently about to embark on a tour with Betty Who, and it’s not one to miss. Upcoming shows can be found below:
