Premiere: July Jones expands on her sound in ‘Bad Influence’

July Jones has unveiled her new sound defining track, ‘Bad Influence’.

The new cut sees July focussing just as much on the song’s production as the vocals. Driven by a steady percussive beat laced with atmospheric sweeps and distorted chops, ‘Bad Influence’ is an addictive future R&B gem.

Although a step in a different direction for the London-based artist, the new track is undeniably catchy. July continues to paint colours and moods with her words as she experiments with her own sound, pushing her creativity further and wider. Listen to ‘Bad Influence’ below.

It’s about the influence people can have on each other, the Slovenia-native explains about the track. “Even if they lead you momentarily off course, you still just go with it because it can be fun an exciting – The everyday life experiences that we all face when we are young – we go and try things, we break the rules.”

Bad Influence’ follows the success of the singer’s striking debut single, ‘Jump In The Water’, which first introduced us to her artistry. Announcing the new track and pre-order details via Instagram, July wants to see your rebellious side. Launching a competition with the hashtag #LikeABadInfluence, she is offering you the chance to win a free BADpack. You can find out more about the competition here.

‘Bad Influence’ is set for release tomorrow, 10th November, worldwide.
