Temenu Campbell impressively switch up styles in their brand-new EP – ‘Anybody Lonely’

OUT NOW – Listen Here

Eclectic artist/producer duo Temenu Campbell are set to make their mark this year with remix EP ‘Anybody Lonely‘. Packed with vibrancy and atmosphere, this project was inspired by the classic soul artists of the past, constructed on a MIDI sequencer and later embellished by session musicians for that extra oomph. ‘Anybody Lonely’ is split into three distinct mixes, each with their own charm. The original version serves up a chilled old school R&B sound with entrancing electric guitar and sax riffs to boot! You can also enjoy its accompanying video, directed by Michael Campbell himself. Mix two is produced by Illinton from his Ibiza studio, and of course, ups the ante with a whole new Dance sound. Temenu’s vocals work nicely with the track’s Deep House elements, slotting perfectly alongside muted basslines and funky synths – truly fun and lively in every sense of the word! As we come to mix three, we get to discover how much genres can alter the meanings of a song’s message, bringing a hopeful spin to themes of loneliness. This Reggae version, produced by Nereus Joseph at his Much Talent Studios, UK, brings a whole tone to the song with the classic reggae instrumental here. The ‘Anybody Lonely’ EP certainly is an exciting listen for any music fan, be sure not to miss it!

Temenu Campbell marks the coming together of skilled and established singer and songwriter Charles Temenu and producer Mike Campbell (Djareem). Before their union in 2012, the pair had already built up an extensive and impressive number of career milestones. Temenu’s skills were put to use in groups Troi and Streamline, leading him to signings with the likes of EMI Parlaphone, Juice Records, Scandinavian Records and more. Songwriting has also been a particular strength of Temenu. He penned for the names including but not limited to Usher, Sunshine Anderson, and Jonny B and earned himself a publishing deal with Sony subsidiary Big Life. Meanwhile, producer Mike Campbell was paving his own way in the music industry. He started out rapping and producing for the group Soul Puppets, making waves in the industry, and opening for The Roots, Redman, Lord Finesse and Smif-N-Wessun. It was when he opened his own recording studio and opened up to the world of Reggae that his career flourished completely. Campbell has now collaborated with Grammy winner Buju Banton, Capleton, Vybz Kartel, Mad Cobra, Spragga Benz and on and on! Now on a mission to fuse their own blends of Soul, R&B, Funk, Reggae, Dance and Hip hop, the sky’s the limit for Temenu Campbell. There’s no telling what 2023 will bring for this riveting duo.
