Ableton’s new website to offer beats tutorials

Music software behemoths, Ableton, have rolled out a brand new website offering free beat-making tutorials.

The Berlin-based company, best known for their flagship audio workstation Live – used by Skrillex, Flying Lotus and Panda Bear among many others – has unveiled the in-browser experience as a comprehensive interactive guide to making beats using a variety of original templates along with a breakdown of numerous well-known songs including Beyoncé’‘Single Ladies’, Daft Punk’s ‘Around The World’, Grimes’ ‘Oblivion’, and Joy Division’s ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’.

The development is the latest in a series of initiatives set up by Ableton to make the process of making music more acccessible. In 2015, the company launched a book of creative strategies for producers, addressing the problems of beginning, progressing with and finishing music. Earlier this year, they launched a bite-sized video tutorial series entitled One Thing.

Ableton’s annual summit for creators of music, Loop, returns this November.
