Avicii to hit the big screen in new intimate documentary

Avicii will hit the big screens following an announcement from Piece of Magic Entertainment which revealed the release of a new documentary about the DJ superstar.

Avicii: True Stories will focus on the life of Tim Bergling, A.K.A Avicii, tracing the origin of his beginnings all the way to the joy of his success. The documentary will touch on important highs and his lows in his career including the artist’s struggle with mental health and his seemingly sudden decision to quit doing live shows last year.

The Levan Tsikurishvili directed film features appearances from Chris Martin, Nile Rodgers, David Guetta and Wyclef Jean and poses as a cautionary tale that explores the taxing nature and intensity of fame. Watch the trailer for Avicii: True Stories below.

Speaking about the film, Tsikurishvili stated: “I wanted to do a brutally honest film about Tim as a person and not only about Avicii. Everybody knows Avicii but very few people know Tim. I think this documentary really shows Tim’s struggle and strength of character. Being a worldwide superstar artist is not as easy as it looks on Instagram”.

The film, where Tsikurishvili followed Aviici for four years, will be premiering in selected cinemas worldwide on 26th October
