The singer phoned teenage cancer patient Ebony Banks via Facetime.
The teenager is battling a rare stage four cancer at the MD Anderson Cancer Centre. She has had to spend most of the school year in the hospital as she fights the disease. Her classmates have supported her while she has been in the hospital and even held an early graduation for her.
As a graduation present, her friends decided to try and connect Banks with Beyoncé by starting the hashtag #EBOBMEETSBEYONCE on Twitter.
Speaking to KTRK-TV, one of the students said: “Beyonce is one of her idols. She admires her so much, so we’re trying to put that on Twitter and Instagram to get Beyonce’s attention.”
The hashtag quickly gained exposure and began trending in only a few days, so much so that the singer seen it and decided to Facetime Banks.
During the call, which you can watch below, you can hear the teenager say “I love you Beyoncé” to which she replies “I love you“.

Everyone was surprised at the call and one friend said: “It was like wow, it really happened. We actually got her attention!” Her school also weighed in on Twitter adding: “Thank you to everyone who helped #ebobmeetsbeyonce @Beyonce.“
