The Britney Spears biopic was a car crash that Twitter couldn’t stop watching

Britney Ever After was the two-hour long unauthorised biopic from Lifetime that aimed to detail “the tumultuous story of pop icon Britney Spears’ rise to fame, fall from grace and eventual triumphant resurrection, firmly securing her position as one of the world’s greatest entertainers”. However, the film appeared to focus on the unfortunate time in her life where she lost custody of her children, married Kevin Federline, and her possible substance abuse. The film focuses on drama instead of introducing any new facts or insights into the life of Spears and why she had a breakdown. It also doesn’t seem to touch upon the singer’s accomplishments since that time.

Twitter seemed most entertained by the casting and costume design on the biopic.

But Twitter’s biggest problem? They never got the iconic denim look right.

Spears has yet to comment on the biopic but her management had previously said the singer “will not be contributing in any way, shape or form to the Lifetime biopic, nor does it have her blessing.
