Gorillaz invited a fan who was “tripping balls” onstage this week at a special, intimate gig in NYC.
Damon Albarn‘s animated hip-pop collective were performing at Rough Trade NYC in Brooklyn to perform their new record Humanz in full. At the close of the show, ahead of an imminent encore of their classic 2001 hit ‘Clint Eastwood’, Albarn asked an audience member onstage to perform Del The Funky Homosapien‘s verse. Clearly out of sorts, the fan asked Albarn: “What should I do? I’m tripping balls right now,” to which the singer responded “just hang out“. The fan duly mimed along to the song while donning a pair of sunglasses. Watch the footage below.

Humanz features a long list of illustrious collaborators including Albarn’s former arch-nemesis Noel Gallagher, who performs on the album’s ‘We Got The Power’ alongside Savages singer Jenny Beth. Albarn recently described the track as a “victory lap” and “the ultimate self-congratulary Britpop moment.”
