  • Hi, Daisy, it seems like it’s been a busy few months for you. How have things been going since the release of ‘Hopelessly Devoted To You’?
  • Things have been good. I’ve been doing more exciting gigs, writing more music, recording in the studio and uploading more YouTube videos. I feel very privileged to be performing and gigging regularly. I love it.
  • Was the attention you received due to the release a shock to you or was it something you were prepared for?
  • I don’t think anyone would be prepared for that. It’s strange enough knowing people have watched the Grease cover over 10 million times, let alone having people coming up to me in the street and being on national television. Also, my phone was going crazy, I had so many notifications it was so overwhelming. But the amount of wonderful messages I received was so incredible and I am so thankful to everyone who listened and bought the single.
  • Have many new opportunities arisen off the back of the success of Hopelessly Devoted To You?
  • There’s been a lot of amazing gig opportunities, for example playing at the Royal Albert Hall and playing a number of awesome festivals this summer. I have a lot of cool gigs lined up for the rest of the year so I’m super excited.
  • We see you’ve been vlogging a fair bit this year. Is this something you’ve always wanted to be involved with more?
  • I really want to get serious about my YouTube channel! YouTube has allowed me to be involved with so many opportunities and meet some amazing people. It’s how everything started. I’ve built up a super supportive little audience on my YouTube channel, so blogging is an amazing way for my viewers to find out a little bit more about my life. Also, I have a lot of other interests besides music, so I’d like to experiment with the types of videos I make in the future.
  • You’ve made a number of TV appearances this year. Are there any shows you’d like to appear on in the foreseeable future?
  • I really enjoyed being on Blue Peter, haha! There was something magical about being there since I’d always watched it when I was younger – so I’d love to be on something like that again.
  • How did the idea for Worlds Away come about? Tell us a bit about the song…
  • I wrote the song about a situation that was happening between two people I know. I was feeling for them so I wrote a poem about it in the notes on my phone… that’s how the lyrics came about. I feel it’s always best to leave the deeper meaning of the song out, so the person listening can make their own interpretation. Music is a very emotional and personal thing so I like that songs without a known meaning, you can find your own meaning to the song and relate to it.
  • Could you tell us a little bit about your forthcoming EP?
  • As excited as I am about the new single, I’m very excited for my audience to hear the classic Daisy Clark songs, the stripped back, acoustic, emotional kind. The kind that I started with I feel super passionate about, these songs are typically the ones I pour all of my emotion into.

[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=””][vc_column_text el_class=”large-quote”]You have no idea how many amazing things lie ahead. Keep writing music and doing your YouTube videos as that is what you love. Don’t trust people too easily and don’t let anyone change you. You believe in your music and what you’re doing so that’s all that matters. Also, be confident, I know it’s difficult at times but you are very capable.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=”large-quote”]

  • Do you have any musical collaborations planned? Are there any artists you’d like to work with?
  • Not as of yet. I love collaborating with my musician friends in Cornwall, there’s so much undiscovered talent down here and everyone is very supportive of one another. I’d love to collaborate with artists like Gabrielle Aplin or James Bay.
  • What would you say to 15-year-old Daisy Clark if you could speak to her now?
  • You have no idea how many amazing things lie ahead. Keep writing music and doing your YouTube videos as that is what you love. Don’t trust people too easily and don’t let anyone change you. You believe in your music and what you’re doing so that’s all that matters. Also, be confident, I know it’s difficult at times but you are very capable.
  • What have you got in store for us for 2018?
  • Hopefully more original music. I love songwriting so much so I just want to keep writing. Also, hopefully, more YouTube videos and vlogs.
  • What have you been feeling this year? What’s been your top song, album, and artist of 2017?
  • The top song has to be ‘Issues‘ by Julia Michaels, top album & artist has to be Harry Styles,! I Love his new sound so much.
  • Worlds Away‘ will be available to stream and download on Saturday 3rd June. Until then, you can revisit Daisy’s incredible rendition of ‘Hopefully Devoted To You‘ below.
