Jean-Michel Jarre announces Virtual Reality performance inside Notre Dame Cathedral

Electronic Music pioneer Jean-Michel Jarre has announced a groundbreaking new performance, set to take place this New Year’s Eve and connecting people around the world in Virtual Reality.

In association with the City of Paris and UNESCO, ‘Welcome to the Other Side’ will see a virtual avatar of Jean-Michel (tracked in real-time from his studio) perform a live concert including music from his most famous albums, in a beautiful VR reconstruction of Notre-Dame cathedral. This trailblazing VR image will also be the official New Year’s Eve midnight news image coming from Paris.

A one-off exclusive, worldwide and free concert experience, the event’s ambition, beyond celebrating the New Year in a futuristic and festive way, is to send a message of hope for 2021: a digital and virtual invitation from Paris, the City of Light, vibrant metropole of the Arts & of Culture and home to the most famous cathedral in the world.

The social virtual reality used for the performance will give us the possibility to party together, wherever we are, including all who are socially or geographically isolated.
