Kendrick Lamar unveils new Nike sneaker collaboration

Kendrick Lamar has shared a first look at his sneaker collaboration with Nike.

The new collaboration sees Kendrick add a red and white colourway to the brand’s classic Cortez silhouette. In addition to the brightly coloured panels and white swoosh, the sneaker includes a black lace strip featuring the words “Don’t Trip“. Just to the right of the toebox Chinese lettering can be spotted which reportedly translates to “Supposed to Die” in English and has a double entendre that means “Damn”. Check out the new sneaker below.

The rapper recently collaborated with Frank Ocean on the new N.E.R.D track ‘Don’t Don’t Do It‘ which was released last week on their comeback album, No_One Ever Really Dies. ‘Don’t Don’t Do It‘ was influenced by the death of African American man Keith Scott who was shot fatally by police last year. Kendrick’s previous signature shoe was a collaboration with Reebok back in 2014.
