The War On Drugs have released their first piece of original music since 2014’s lauded Lost In A Dream album.
Clocking in at just over 11 minutes long, ‘Thinking Of A Place’ is a psychedelia-flecked opus released to mark last weekend’s Record Store Day 2017 on limited 12″ vinyl and online.
The band, led by Adam Granduciel, are rumoured to be working on the follow-up to Lost In A Dream at the moment. The implied forthcoming LP would be TWOD‘s first under their new contract with Atlantic Records.
Last year, the group contributed a version of ‘Touch Of Grey’ to a Grateful Dead covers album. Entitled Day Of The Dead, the album was a collection of over 60 tracks which took more than four years to compile. Also featured on the collection were Mumford & Sons, The Flaming Lips, The Walkmen, Fucked Up, Wilco, and Courtney Barnett.
