Lorde has apologised for comments she recently made in an interview with The Guardian.
Discussing her relationship with Taylor Swift, the young singer said: “It’s like having a friend with very specific allergies. There are certain places you can’t go together. Certain things you can’t do. There are these different sets of considerations within the friendship. It’s like having a friend with an autoimmune disease.”
A host of fans took to Twitter to express their annoyance at the comment, largely based on the fact that Lorde’s friend, Selena Gomez, suffers from the autoimmune disease lupus.
Lorde then replied: “Didn’t mention Taylor, but regardless, I fucked up and that was really insensitive. I’m sorry.”
