Mick Jagger releases two new songs one features Skepta

Mick Jagger has released two new politically inspired tracks, including one that features Skepta.

The Rolling Stones frontman wrote the songs back in April and has said they were inspired by the “changing political situation” in the UK.

Describing the two new tracks ‘Gotta Get A Grip‘ and ‘England Lost’, Jagger has said they were a result of “anxiety, unknowability of the changing political situation“. he also stated the tracks were a response to the “confusion and frustration with the times we live in“.

Skepta, along with Kendrick Lamar, has been cited by Jagger as doing “very interesting” things and is “pretty much on the button“. The UK grime MC features on the new song ‘England Lost‘ and right off the bat Jagger said “when I started writing ‘England Lost’, I imagined having a British rapper on the track… Skepta stepped in at a moment’s notice and I just loved what he did.
