Mullally announced as first performer at this year’s Unsigned Music Awards at The Great Escape

The UMA’s (Unsigned Music Awards) are a relatively newly established accolades, but one which is undoubtedly valuable in an industry where recognition for new artists can be hard to come by. The inaugural UMA’s took place in 2016, and there they awarded their ‘Best Male Solo Act’ to Mullally, who will be returning to perform at this year’s event, which opens up Brighton’s The Great Escape Festival on May 16th this year.

In the time since the UMA’s presented the award to Mulally, he has gone on to get a record deal with Atlantic, garner over 6 million streams on Spotify, be championed by Radio 1 and sell out headline shows in far flung cities from London to LA. It only seems right that he should come back to play this year’s UMA’s at Brighton’s biggest venue, the 4,500 capacity Brighton Centre.

“I’m so stoked, I don’t think I’ll sleep the night before, or even the week…” says Mulally, while The UMA’s CEO Simon O’Kelly adds “It feels right to invite Mullally back to champion all that can be achieved following a win at the UMAs – his journey over the last year highlights the exciting potential, and we’re proud to have been a part of his journey.”
