Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona has become known as one of – if not the – premiere music festival in the world for music nerds. Across countless stages in their unique waterfront setting in the historic city, they have for the last decade plus put on some of the most diverse, exciting and all-encompassing lineups we’ve ever seen.
It is fair to say then that the announcement of their lineup for 2018 is one we are anticipating with baited breath, and the organisers seem to know this, as they have put out a teaser video showing the reactions of 10 people from around the world to their lineup announcement video. The video shows that uniformly all of the participants are bowled over by whatever the festival has in store for 2018, which suggests that the organisers have once again outdone themselves in ways we couldn’t expect. It’s agonising seeing the reactions without knowing what the actual lineup is (we’ll find out in January), but it is certainly effective in getting us excited. Watch below.
Considering that last year they pulled off the double coup of having Aphex Twin and Frank Ocean on the bill, while the year before they pulled in Radiohead (and these few names are merely scratching the surface of the depth of their lineups), it’s fair to say that they must have something really special up their sleeves for this year. Time to start speculating.
