SAY Awards to announce this year’s longlist at Glasgow gig

The SAY Awards will reveal their highly anticipated longlist of artists competing for Scottish Album of the Year at Glasgow’s King Tuts.

The Live at the Longlist event will take place on Wednesday 1st August at the renowned venue. The event celebrating Scottish talent will include an outstanding evening of live music with performances from previous Longlist and Shortlist artists, including a collaborative set from Stina Tweeddale of Honeyblood and Carla J. Easton of TeenCanteen, as well as a live performance from Emma Pollock. After the artists are revealed, Stuart Braithwaite of Mogwai will perform an expansive DJ set.

The winner of the SAY Awards not only gains the prestigious title but also gains a £20,000 prize. A massive 253 albums were entered into the competition, with them all available to stream at the SAY Award website. 100 specialist judges will pick this year’s longlist with 10 of these going through to the shortlist. The winner will be announced on 6th September at Paisley’s Town Hall. Previous winners include Sacred Paws (2017), Anna Meredith (2016), Kathryn Joseph (2015), and Young Fathers (2014).

Tickets for the Live at the Longlist event go on sale 10am on 18th June and can be found at the SAY Awards website with all proceeds going to Help Musicians Scotland.
