Billy Corgan has shared the surreal trailer for his upcoming silent film, Pillbox.
The striking black and white footage appears to take place around the WW1 era and shows a montage of a young soldier’s life. He gets married, goes off to fight, and then eventually transcends into a colourful realm inhabited by wildly face painted beings. The soldier is then blindfolded and lead to the edge of a cliff before the minute-long clip ends. Throughout it all Corgan’s haunting vocals are overlayed singing: “Life keeps running faster than your stars/And Cain isn’t able to build a superstar.” Watch the trailer for Pillbox below.
The new film was directed by the Smashing Pumpkins frontman and Linda Strawberry and stars Harry Holmes, Rai Quartley, Anna Steers, Kalpana Pot, Hardeep Manak, Los Angela, Paul Seroka, Amelya Hensley and Ike Catcher.
Tickets for Pillbox go on sale 22nd September at 11 am PST and are available to purchase here. Those in attendance of the screenings will also receive limited-edition posters. Corgan, Strawberry, and select cast members will be attending various screenings. Check out the dates below.
