Chance The Rapper to meet Illinois governor about state education funding

Following Chance The Rapper‘s triple Grammy victories the governor of Illinois, Chicago, Bruce Rauner, has reached out to him, congratulating him publicly.

The governor voiced his appreciation via Twitter stating, “Illinois is proud that you’re one of our own.” Chance then replied – “Thank you Governor, I would love to have meeting with you this week if possible.

The private meeting is set to take place this Wednesday where Chance The Rapper wishes to “address funding education in Chicago.” The Rauner Administration has now confirmed that the governor will meet with the native Chicago rapper to discuss important issues affecting the state.

In recent news, Chance The Rapper responded to a tweet by the newly elected President, Donald Trump, where he threatened to “send in the Feds” to Chicago. Chance responded saying  “I hope he’s coming in to do some type of federal overturn of our state and city budgets in terms of schooling and housing,”. Chance then declared that it sounded like “he was announcin’ he was going to war with Chicago.
