Robyn Paige releases ‘Righteous’ music video

‘Righteous’ is the brand new single from emerging British R&B songstress Robyn Paige, and the latest offering, taken from her forthcoming debut EP which is scheduled for release early next year. The track comes on the back of her summer anthem ‘Say You Will’.

Produced by Sampl (Skepta, Scorcher, Ms Banks), who she collaborated with previously on ‘Say You Will’, ‘Righteous’ is a sultry piano-led ballad backed by sparse drum and string arrangements, over which Paige sings emotively about being torn between right and wrong and her inability to resist someone that isn’t right for her.

The visuals for ‘Righteous’, which were shot and directed by Olan Collardy (Angel, River Island, Nick Brewer), brings the record further to life, as we witness Robyn Paige playing the other woman in a romantic love triangle. Speaking about the visuals, she says, “I was nervous to play ‘the other woman’ in the video but I feel that the concept really portrayed the lyrics perfectly to grasp the meaning of the song”.

As for the record itself, Paige says ‘Righteous’ is about, “being in a situation you know shouldn’t be in. It’s about how you feel in that moment when you are torn between the right and the wrong thing to do, but are unable to resist the wrong thing”.
