The follow up to debut EP ‘Trials & Tributes’, the new album from Den Haag is their first full length album and a marked step forward from the work of their initial 6 song collection. Comprising 9 songs of varying lengths, speeds and feels, ‘Bleak Unknown’ is a stellar tribute to the 80’s New Wave era.
Given a 21st Century spin thanks to the cleaner production values, these tracks are enjoyably varied – ranging from bombastic punk to contemplative softer rock – driven by the rhythm section and given character by the guitar and vocal melodies. Well worth a listen if you miss the heady days of Joy Division and their ilk.
